I’m glad you’ve made it this far! Please take a moment to learn more about my education, experience, and services. It’s important that you feel comfortable with your therapist to most benefit from your hard work.

A bit more about me: I’m originally from Florida and, although I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my varied national and international places of residences, I’m happy to call Florida ‘home’ again. I enjoy diverse cuisine, music, dance, and nature. I have a degree in Spanish, lived and studied in Spanish speaking countries, and hold a certificate in providing Psychological Services for Spanish Speaking Populations (PSSSP). I also grew up part-time in Germany and spoke conversational German, so I’m comfortable navigating related linguistic and cultural barriers that may present themselves.

I received my master’s degree from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and my doctorate degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in Texas. I completed my internship at San Jose State University in California and my postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University.

I have worked in the community counseling setting for 6 years and the university counseling setting for 10 years. I’ve provided individual, couples, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, psychosis, ability-related issues, substance abuse, eating disorders, anger management, family conflict, and relationship difficulties. Through my varied background and educational and work experience, I have acquired extensive knowledge and skills to treat diverse clients and a broad range of concerns.

I’ve been in private practice now for 3 years. I’m located in the Tampa Bay area and provide telehealth and virtual therapy to Florida residents. I specialize in solution-focused and integrative individual therapy for adults experiencing adjustment/stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and ability-related issues. I use a predominantly strengths-based, goal-directed, and culturally-informed approach to therapy. I’m flexible in my work, therefore, I use a wide range of scientifically-validated approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), to tailor sessions to best meet my clients’ specific needs and goals.

My treatment style is genuine, compassionate, empowering, and inclusive. I offer a warm and supportive space for you to share your story as you feel comfortable. Together, we’ll address your unique experiences and challenges, identify your needs and goals for treatment to be successful, explore and expand on your strengths and resources, and build new coping skills to help you live the life you want.
